Vidar Helgesen is Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC/UNESCO) and Assistant Director-General of UNESCO. Executive Director of the Nobel Foundation in 2021-2024, he previously served in the Norwegian government as Special Representative for the Ocean, Minister of Climate and Environment, Minister of European Affairs and Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister.
