Katja Fennel is a biogeochemical modeler with more than two decades of experience in biogeochemical model development, particularly in high-resolution on regional scales. Her areas of expertise include data assimilation, carbon cycling and deoxygenation research, and numerical prediction. She has been a member of the development team of the Regional Ocean Modelling System (ROMS) since 2002, of the Copernicus Marine Service’s Scientific and Technical Advisory Board since 2015, and of the international Biogeochemical Argo Science Team since 2017. She also served for 8 years as member of the OceanPredict Science Team.
